LOVE UNMATCHED ~ Precious Victor Akah

This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. 1 John 4:10
The Love of God is the expressed love of God the Father to the entire world. It is love unmatched. Human love (romantic love, familial love, brotherly love, friendship love) cannot match the love of God nor can any other type of love that may exist. This is why anyone who comes to God and experience His matchless love cannot but hold on to God tightly, because no human love can compare to God's love.

God the Father loved us (while we were still sinners, Romans 5:8) and gave expression to the love He confessed to have for us by sacrificing His Son, Jesus, to die for our redemption and freedom from sin, Satan, and the consequences of sin. Oh, what love! How many parents would love and show unconditional love to their stubborn, disobedient and wayward children who bring them nothing but trouble, pain, shame, disgrace and anguish? How many people would be friends with you and proudly call you their friend, showing you unconditional love, if you were dirty, smelly, poor and wretched? How many individuals will approach you or accept your proposal for a romantic relationship/marriage if you were deformed, ugly-looking, wicked and evil, and show you unconditional love?

But guess what? These and more are what each and everyone of us on earth was when we came into this world (Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, Psalm 51:5), yet Romans 5:8 tells us what the Almighty God did: "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." God loved us while we were still stubborn, disobedient, wayward, dirty, smelly, poor, wretched, deformed and made ugly by sin, wicked and evil. Hmmm!

Why would any sensible person not appreciate and reciprocate this kind of love that is very rare to find yet freely given? Why would anyone refuse, reject or shun this kind of love by refusing to accept Jesus Christ (as their personal Lord and Savior), whom God the Father sent? Why would people joke with the decision to live in obedience to God's Word and instructions (which is meant to safely bring us to where God the Father lives, so that we'll live with Him and enjoy His matchless love forever)?

Many people are preparing to celebrate Valentine's day tomorrow, by going to a club to have immoral fun (smoking, wild dancing and drinking), or going out with someone of the opposite sex to do things that are sexually immoral before God. Some others have plans to do destructive, dirty and ungodly things tomorrow that will bring displeasure to God and harm to their soul, body and spirit. Do you have any of such plans?

If yes, I would like to bring something to your realization: the unconscious reason behind this plan of yours is the ABSENCE OF REAL LOVE. Your soul and spirit (you not being aware) is yearning and searching for real love; you want to be in an environment where you'll be loved and with people who'll show you love, and so you think that going to this kind of places and doing these kind of things you may call "fun" will satisfy/fulfill what your soul and spirit yearns for; but unfortunately, you're wrong. What your spirit and soul is seeking for is in God: This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins (1 John 4:10). Why not give God a chance right now and see if you'll not be satisfied to the brim with God's unconditional, endless and matchless love.

SOME SWEET THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT GOD'S LOVE

1. It is sacrificial: God, being the Sovereign God and the Omnipotent God, who can do anything and all things, could have sent one, out of the millions of created angels serving Him in heaven to come and die for us, since He can create another angel to replace the one He sents to earth, but to show us the depth and magnitude of love He has for us, He sent His One and Only begotten Son, His uncreated Son, His irreplaceable Son to die for us.

2. It is conditionless: Meaning it is not subject to any conditions. The Scripture says "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." Romans 5:8

If God loved us while we were still sinners and sent His Son to die for our sins, then nothing can separate us from God's love, including sin. God does not stop loving you because you sinned. Sin cannot separate us from God's Love, but sin can separate us from God's presence and the privilege to live, rule and reign with Him in eternity.

God does not send anyone to hell because He hates them, it is still His love for you that makes Him respect/honor your will, wish or desire not to be with Him in heaven. Because, a decision to go to hell is a decision not to be with God, and God cannot force you to be with Him because He loves you to allow you be where you want to be. Love does not force. It does not force anyone to do anything against their will. Love does not impose; love lets you exercise your will (your power of volition).

3. It is eternal: It is without end. God loves us till eternity. Even those who chose to go to hell, He still loves them. John 13:1 says "...having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end."

4. It is a giving love: There is nothing in this world (for everything belongs to God) that God the Father cannot give to us if we ask in line with His will, since He freely gave us His only Son. Romans 8:32 says "He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?"

5. It is changeless: It does not change because God is love and He cannot change. "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love." 1 John 4:7-8

6. It is a liquid love: God invested His love on us not minding whether we'll reciprocate it or not. God the Father lavishly poured out His love upon all men—like water—through Christ Jesus who died for us while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8). He didn’t die for us because we were good people who were living right; we were sinners when He died for us! That’s extreme, indescribable, and extraordinary liquid-love.
