BEYOND HERE ~ Precious Victor Akah
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born, and a time to die.
The above statement is from Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 from verse 1 to 2. This statement of the Bible makes it crystal clear to all of us that no matter how long we live on this earth, regardless of how influential and powerful we are, and our financial status notwithstanding, we will all leave this earth one day as designed by God our Creator; that's why there is a time to be born and a time to die.
No one can live on earth forever because earth is not deathless; earth is transient. The Bible says in 2 Peter 3:10, "The day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will vanish with a [mighty and thunderous] roar, and the [material] elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and the works that are on it will be burned up." So this present earth will be burned up one day, and that is the day of the Lord. Hence, no matter what you strive to achieve: houses, cars, mansions, money and all material possessions, they will all be gone one day.
We came into this world with nothing, and we're leaving with nothing. So, it's important you focus more on what will matter in the end, and that is where you'll spend eternity, where you will go to live forever the moment you vacate this temporary world. Life does not end on earth. Life continues after earth, in one of these two places: HEAVEN or HELL. No life ends on earth. You continue to live (now - forever) in HEAVEN or HELL after exiting this world. Those who continue to live in HEAVEN experience endless pleasure and joy, while those who continue to live in HELL experience endless pain and sorrows.
Now, a lot of people don't like to think about this. So they run from discussions on this issue because they will rather enjoy the "brief life" they have right now than worry about "eternal life" beyond this world; what an irony.
And this is why some people don't care about the consequences of their actions beyond this earth. They just want to focus on the now and enjoy "now" at the detriment of tomorrow's comfort.
They will cheat, defraud, covet, lie, steal, kill, and do all manner of immoral things just to live a comfortable life on earth, forgetting that you can't compare living 100 years on earth to living in eternity.
So, while you do your best to live a comfortable life on earth, strive more to secure eternal life in heaven and sustain your eternal home.
These days, because the preaching of heaven and hell has somewhat reduced, and with the rising global economic crisis, a lot of Christians are soon forgetting that there is life beyond this earth. So they live for now, rather than with the consciousness of eternity. Some have ceased to pursue righteousness, godly living and a purpose driven life. They just go to church on Sundays and return to live outside the instructions and commands of God. They no longer care about how God wants His children to live.
Well, the unhidden truth is, even if we choose not to think about life beyond this world, one day, we'll sleep and wake up to meet our Maker (God Almighty) one on one to receive the reward of our actions on earth.
Therefore, intentionally remind yourself from time to time about heaven and hell and the need to live with the consciousness of eternity.
It begins here...
Have you surrendered your life genuinely and totally to Jesus? If not, I enjoin you to do so and begin to live with eternity in mind, giving careful consideration to every decision you make, and ensuring that it is pleasing to God and leading you to the fulfilment of your purpose.
And if you have already accepted Jesus, please don't allow yourself to be carried away by the deceitfulness of riches or be swayed off by cares of this life.
There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (except the Name of Jesus). Acts 4:12
As you work hard for promotion in your workplace, and strive to excel in your career and business, and strive to have a successful and flourishing marriage, never forget what is more important: MAKING IT TO HEAVEN. There is a HEAVEN TO GAIN and a HELL to LOSE.
Anything that will disqualify you from spending eternity in heaven, run from such. Ecclesiastes 3:5 says, "There is a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing." Refrain from embracing whatever will cost you eternity in heaven, refrain from embracing worldliness, wickedness, sin and evil, and embrace godly and holy living which is imperative in making heaven.
Receive strength from the Holy Spirit to remain standing for righteousness and holiness and to run from all appearances of evil.
Do all you can not to miss heaven.
Accept Jesus the Son of God into your life today and be on your way to heaven.
Say this prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. Please save me. Forgive my sins and accept into your family. I confess that You are my Lord and personal Saviour. I believe You died for me and rose on the third day. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me. I am now a child of God.
Remain blessed
