THE FEAR OF CORONAVIRUS by Precious C Philip

"For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences (deadly or virulent epidemic diseases), and earthquakes, in divers places." Matthew 24 vs 7

The prophecy of Jesus in the above scripture about the outbreak of epidemic diseases in the last days (such as the ebola virus and Coronavirus we are seeing today in the world)- to herald the imminence of His return was not meant to be fulfilled in the lives of God's people, but in the lives of the wicked (those who have refused to accept Christ and are therefore without Him in their life) and also in the lives of nominal Christians (churchgoers who are Christians in name only; who do not live the lifestyle children of God have been called to live). Therefore, if you're without Christ or you're a nominal Christian, you have every reason to fear Coronavirus because you're not immune to it. But if you're a child of God, you have no reason whatsoever to be afraid of Coronavirus because you're immune to it, and the One who lives in you is greater than the Coronavirus that lives in the world. You also have the assurance of God in Psalm 91vs 3-8 that He'll protect you and exempt you from such deadly diseases. So why fear? He is still the same God who supernaturally exempted His people -the Israelites living in the land of Goshen from the plagues that came on the Egyptians in their land. So He's still faithful and powerful to exempt His true children from this deadly pestilence. You have nothing to fear. 

The presence of fear is an indication that you're either ignorant of God's word, you doubt God's promises and His ability to keep His promises, or you're not a true child of God. Fear magnets evil to you, while faith magnets good to you. Being afraid will even attract the virus to you though you be a child of God because you're operating in disobedience to God's instruction "not to fear". So if you're a child of God and you know deep down without any doubt that you are one of God's children, you therefore must cast out that spirit of fear (which the Lord has not given you) and fill your heart with faith which comes from knowing and understanding God's word. If it is that you don't believe God's promises and His ability to keep to His promises, what better time do you have to trust God's promises than now- when every other form of protection and safety is failing? God is faithful to His promises. 

Psalm 145:13b assures us that "The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does." Trust Him and be not afraid. Hold tightly to His promise in Psalm 91:3-8 and be at peace. And if your fear is as a result of not being a child of God, what is still holding you back from totally surrendering your life to Jesus and becoming a child of God? Is that thing stronger than the painful death hidden in Coronavirus? Is forsaking the sinful pleasures of the world a hard thing to do in order to save your life from physical death and spiritual death? 

Moreover, if you're still doubting the existence of God and the promised Second Coming of Jesus, you really need to sit down and have a deep rethink because the prophecies of the Holy Bible are being fulfilled to the letter right before our very eyes. First it was Ebola virus, now it is Coronavirus. When Ebola virus came, people were sore afraid and considered it to be the fastest killer virus, but Coronavirus seems to be more terrible because it is spreading very fast that many nations have already been affected by it. Sadly, this won't be the end of such outbreaks, a lot more deadlier pestilence will yet surface because the Bible is real and every one of Christ's word must be fulfilled. The end of the world is nearer than you think (see Matthew 24:14) because the Gospel of Jesus is fast reaching the entire globe, thanks to the internet. Isn't it time you surrendered totally to Jesus and take Him serious and actually serve Him indeed, in spirit, and in truth? Only God can keep you safe from this deadly virus. Only God can exempt you from it. You can follow all the safety precautions and still contract it. You can wear surgical masks, use hand sanitizers, wash your hands with soap and water frequently, avoid sick people and everyone coughing and sneezing, and follow all the medical advice given and still contract it. You're only safe from this virus if your life is hidden with Christ in God (this happens when you're born again). Even if scientists or doctors finally find a vaccine for Coronavirus, it'll still take some time for it to circulate to all nations affected by the virus; and if they find an antidote, it is not a guarantee that the instant you contract Coronavirus, the antidote will be administered to you immediately. There can be some delays or oppositions to getting the antidote to you; so prevention is better than cure. 

Before now, my African brothers and sisters would brag that this Coronavirus is only killing Whites -that Africans have strong blood- their immune system is very strong to combat the virus, so they cannot contract it. But as of the time I'm writing this article, at least two Africans in Italy have been killed by this virus and a 27-year-old Kenyan woman tested positive for the virus on March 12 in Nairobi, Kenya. Also, Africa now has 25 countries reporting cases compared to nine a week ago. So African blood, Asian blood, American blood, European blood and every other kind of blood is not immune to this Coronavirus. The only blood that is immune to this virus is the blood of Jesus flowing in the veins of children of God. Every child of God shares the same DNA with God. "And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires." 2 Peter 1:4.

The blood of Jesus runs in the vein of every child of God, thus every child of God is immune to this virus because the blood of Jesus is more powerful than this virus; and obviously, this virus is not from God but from the devil- is the devil now greater and powerful than God? As if!! God is the Greatest. God is All-powerful. He created the devil himself. Hence, Coronavirus has no power over the children of God. They enjoy complete exemption from such deadly pestilence. Children of God can also take the Holy Communion which is the flesh and blood of Jesus (with understanding and in faith) to boost their immunity (Read John 6:53-58 meditatively). 

Dear reader, you don't have to be afraid of Coronavirus anymore. You don't have to live in fear, panic, and anxiety. You don't have to worry, be restless, apprehensive, and sad. You don't have to run helter skelter. You don't have to discomfort yourself following all kinds of uncomfortable rules to avoid contracting this killer virus. You don't have to fight Coronavirus on your own (it is stronger than you). You don't have to be cheaply killed by Coronavirus or endure excruciating pains. Jesus Christ is the escape route. Accept Him into your life. Surrender your life to Him. Forsake religion. Forsake sin. Forsake tradition. Forsake witchcraft, charms, secret society, and idol worship. Forsake worldly pleasures. Forsake pretence and hypocrisy. Forsake carnality and worldliness. Forsake fake Christianity that leaves the practitioner still a slave to sin, the world, the devil, and the flesh; and embrace Jesus and live the holy life children of God have been called to live. Having Christ Jesus in your life (becoming a child of God by being born again), living a righteous life, and knowing, understanding & believing the vivid promises of God in the Bible to protect His children from deadly pestilence keeps you safe from contracting Coronavirus. It is what you need to combat this virus. It is the only reliable prophylactic or vaccine against this virus. God does not protect everyone. He protects only those who love Him, who genuinely run to Him for protection by first accepting His Son, Jesus, and surrendering their lives in totality to Him. Psalm 145:17-20a reveals "The Lord is fair in everything he does and full of kindness. He is close to all who call on him sincerely. He fulfills the desires of those who reverence and trust him; he hears their cries for help and rescues them. He protects all those who love him." 

Surrender completely to the Lord today and be safe. He wants to give you peace, rest, and joy in the midst of this boisterous storm raging in the world today. Receive Jesus and begin to live in complete obedience to His teachings and commandments in the Holy Bible. God loves you and wants to protect you. 

Finally, the pain of burning eternally in hell fire can never be compared to the pain of being killed by a killer virus - so you need to secure your immortal soul to continue living well after leaving planet earth much more than you're striving to secure your mortal body and continue living well on earth. Life on earth has an end but, life after death is forever with no end. Become a child of God today.
