WHY EVIL IS FLOURISHING –Part 1

Ever wondered why evil is becoming rampant today?

Prostitution, armed robbery, kidnapping, man slaughter, occult practices, ponzi schemes, rituals, internet fraud, drug trafficking, bribery and corruption, injustice, money laundering, amongst other evils, is proliferating in today’s world. What could be the right explanation for this noxious status quo?

It might interest you to know that evil is flourishing in our world today on account of the prophecy of the Scripture recounting the signs of the end time being fulfilled. What is this prophecy? 2 Timothy 3:2a tells us: “…For people will be lovers of self and [utterly] self-centered, lovers of money and aroused by an inordinate [greedy] desire for wealth…” (AMPC).
How does this link to the rampancy of evil today? Understand that the root cause of ALL FORMS OF EVIL is the love of money; “For the love of money is the root of all evil…” 1st Timothy 6:10. That is why evil is flourishing today. 

A lot of Christians today have abandoned their love for God, abandoned their Christian faith, abandoned the heavenly race, to pursue money, without understanding that those who love money will never have it enough (Ecclesiastes 5:10), but those who love God and pursue God, will have money in abundance, because God is the Possessor and the Giver of riches and wealth –“With me are riches, honor, enduring wealth, and prosperity.” Proverbs 8:18

Where the love of God is absent, the willingness to do evil will be present. Where the love of God is lacking, the temptation to do evil cannot be overcome. And where the love of God is nonexistent, evil will thrive. For it is the love of God that compels any man or woman on earth to love people, to be other- centered and not self- centered, and to do good, rather than evil.

Prostitutes are driven by the love of money. Armed robbers are driven by the love of money. Kidnappers and ritualists are driven by the love of money. Fraudsters and scammers are driven by the love of money. Drug traffickers are driven by the love of money. Porn stars and porn producers are driven by the love of money. People cheat, lie, swindle and defraud for financial gains. Many accountants falsify financial records for financial gains. Many women are fornicators and adulterers because of the love of money. Many men are gigolos, involved in illegal business, and are members of occult societies because of the love of money.
Several politicians kill, join secret societies, embezzle and siphon public funds because of the love of money. A lot of police officers and public servants demand bribes and collect bribes because of the love of money. Many professing Christians unashamedly run ungodly establishments such as bars, night clubs, brothels, beer parlors, casinos... because of the love of money. Many lawyers and judges pervert justice because of the love of money. Doctors who perform abortion are motivated by the love of money. Many business men and women give and receive bribe to win or award a contract because of the love of money.
The governments of many nations are corrupt because of the love of money. The love of money is indeed the root of all evil!

Lovers of money are compelled to serve money, which makes it difficult for them to genuinely love God, devotedly serve God, and really love people.
The sure antidote to love of money is contentment, love of God and love for people, which is the root of all good.
