SEXUAL PURITY ~ Precious Victor Akah
When we talk about sexual purity, a lot of people (especially young people) scoff at it today, because they think it is outmoded or antiquated. Yet the Holy Bible (the wisest book on earth) teaches, encourages, promotes and upholds sexual purity. In the book of Revelation chapter 14 verse 4, the Bible speaking about the 144,000 people redeemed from the earth, highlighted this about them. It says, "They are the men who have kept themselves pure by not having sexual relations with women; they are virgins."
This was the FIRST thing said about the 144,000 in Revelation 14 amongst other things. Why was this given prominence if sexual purity is for "foolish people"? Foolish people you say? Yes! Because if you're not presently living a sexually pure life you're saying sexual purity is a foolish thing, and you're acting "wise" or doing the "wise thing" by living a sexually immoral life. Ponder on it.
"Contrary to what some people think or believe, sexual purity is not for some persons; it is for every child of God. If you're a child of God, God expects you to be living a sexually pure life."
I thank God for the grace He gave my husband and I during our period of courtship to keep all the tenets of Christianity, and this has helped us to build trust in our marriage.
Beloved, God is wise. If you follow His commands, you'll enjoy life and enjoy your marriage. If you're still a virgin, value virginity and protect yourself against intruders of any kind. Embrace sexual purity tightly, you'll be very glad you did. If you're no more a virgin, it is not too late for you; you can start today to practice sexual purity.
A lot of people, before marriage, were sexually active with the person they're now married to, and today, they cannot trust their spouse (hundred percent) that they're not cheating, neither can they vouch for their spouse that they're incapable of cheating. This is one of the unpleasant results of disobedience to God's commands - including lack of peace and rest of mind.
Sister, brother, listen to God and follow His ways, you'll have peace when you marry. Forget the scornful remarks of people on sexual purity. When you live a sexually immoral life, you'll bear the consequences alone with no one coming to share your pain, agony and misery with you. And when you live sexually pure, you'll also enjoy the sweet results alone.
Finally, let me share with you a scripture that greatly helped me when I began my journey to sexual purity after being born again. This scripture can also be of help to you. I meditated on it regularly and constantly recited it. It helped me get to where I am today.
1 Thessalonians 4:1-8: "It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister. The Lord will punish all those who commit such sins, as we told you and warned you before. For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit."
Be wise and show your wisdom by embracing sexual purity and actually living a sexually pure life starting today.
