Guess Who Is Coming? ~ Precious C Philip
"And after I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to myself, so that you will be where I am." John 14:3
A lot of people today, even professing Christians, when they hear "Jesus is coming soon", they laugh in their heart; some no longer believe that Jesus is coming back, just because they've heard the prophecy for a very long time - since their childhood, and now they're adults, and Jesus hasn't come.
During the time of Noah, God told Noah that He'll destroy the earth with water, but this prophecy came to pass after many years. It didn't come to pass the day after God gave Noah the prophecy (and people mocked Noah and ignored his warning), it happened several years after.
Now, why is the prophecy of Jesus' second coming or return yet to happen? Well, I was thinking about it and it occured to me that I got saved on 9th of June 2012, so if Jesus had come in May 2012 or before 2012, I would have missed the rapture. I would be now burning with the devil and his angels in the lake of fire. And if you're reading this and you got born again recently, do you know that if Jesus had come last year or the day before you got born again or even some minutes or seconds before you received Christ, you would have also missed the rapture?
So, why is Jesus yet to come? You guessed right: He does not want anyone to perish, thus He is being patient with all men to be saved. The Scripture puts it clearly - 2 Peter 3:9: "The Lord isn't slow about keeping his promises, as some people think he is. In fact, God is patient, because he wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost. " Jesus wants everyone to repent and be saved. He does not want a single soul to spend eternity in hell. He wants all men to spend eternity in heaven with Him. I mean this is the reason Jesus had to come to earth and die to pay the penalty of our sins, which is death (eternal separation from God in hell fire).
Jesus came and paid the ultimate price and is now asking everyone to repent and believe in Him as the Saviour and the Son of God, and to receive the payment He had made for our sins and be privileged to spend eternity in heaven. God does not send people to hell neither is He a wicked God. People send themselves to hell. When anyone refuses to accept Jesus' payment for their sins, they're directly telling God that they'll pay for their sins themselves; and the wages of sin is death (not physical death - but eternal separation from God and eternity in the lake of fire).
Sin has wages and it must be reaped. You either accept Jesus' payment for your sins and be justified or you reap the wages of your sins.
If you're reading this and you're yet to genuinely surrender your life totally to Jesus and repent from your sins completely, please know that Jesus loves you deeply. He doesn't want you to go to hell. This is one of the reasons He is yet to come back. He is "delaying" His return just because of you. He wants you to receive His payment for your sins and turn from sin and live righteous, then He'll come and take all of us to be with Him in heaven. Don't you want to get out of this corrupt world and live in the heavenly city made of pure gold? Where there is no death, fear, crying, sadness, hunger, darkness, heat, dirtiness, and everything unpleasant and bad that you see or experience in this present world or see other people experience? Don't you? I do! And I know you do too. So why not accept Jesus and be saved today, so He can return sooner.
After you're saved, Jesus expects you to reach out to other sinners, religious people, and unbelievers around you that are yet to accept Him with the good news, remember, He loves them too, and He wants them too to be saved. "This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." 1 Timothy 2:3-4
"The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent." 2 Peter 3:9
This is why Jesus is yet to return: He is being patient with you because He wants you to believe in Him and be saved (if you're not born again). And if you're born again, He wants you to go out and preach to more people and reconcile the remaining lost souls back to Him.
Unfortunately, God won't be patient forever. This is why you can't delay any further in surrendering all to Jesus - accepting Him and repenting from your sins, and why you, a born again child of God cannot continue to delay in reaching out to lost souls with the truth of the gospel of Jesus, because God's mercy and patience can run out any time, just like it ran out during the time of Noah, and only 8 persons were saved. So, Jesus can actually come any time from now if His patience and mercy runs out. Don't delay any further. Give your life to Jesus, dear sinner. Preach the gospel and win souls, dear child of God.
The longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah" (1 Peter 3:20). But God's patience did not last forever; the flood came (2 Peter 2:5-9). Jesus is coming. Be ready to meet Him.
Moreover, the moment the Gospel of Jesus reaches the entire globe, Jesus will come. "When the good news about the kingdom has been preached all over the world and told to all nations, the end will come. " Matthew 24:14
Be ready to meet the Son of God. He is coming back soon.
God bless you. Check this site again next week Monday for another life-changing article.
