WHY EVIL IS FLOURISHING –Part 3
Money will always outrun whoever chases it in the place of God. God is not against us having money, but He is against money having us; because when money possesses a man, he cannot serve and worship God acceptably.
What motivates you in life? Is it God or money? For every man on earth is motivated by either the pursuit of God or the pursuit of money. Many secular musicians, actors and actresses, politicians, celebrities, in pursuit of money, have sold their souls to the devil.
Many young ladies today offer their body cheaply in exchange for a “juicy” job offer or promotion at work because they’re pursuing money. Please don’t pursue money; pursue God. There is untold wisdom in doing so; for life after death is real and it has no end. Life on earth is short and temporary; life after death is long and everlasting. Therefore, pursue that which will give you a pleasurable eternal home to dwell in the world beyond. The pursuit of money lands people in an unpleasant eternal home – the lake of fire. The pursuit of God earns people the pleasant home of Heaven. Choose wisely! “And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?” Mark 8:36-37
Don’t gain money and lose God. Don’t gain money on earth at the expense of losing God, for the acute pain that comes with such thoughtless action and imprudent decision in the lake of fire is too everlasting to be taken for granted. Gain God by all means, even if it costs you not living ‘rich’ on earth. All earthly treasures, properties and material possessions (cars, bags, clothes, shoes, houses, smart phones…) acquired with money on earth cannot go to the world beyond with you; you only leave earth with the God you served on earth. So, serve God! There is abundant treasures and precious things in Heaven awaiting all those who pursued God till their last breath on earth. The riches stored up for such people in Heaven can never ever be compared with what the richest man on earth enjoyed; in fact, it greatly pales in comparison with the goodies of Heaven.
The dangers of chasing money, pursuing money and trying to get rich quick and by all means, is too dreadful, beware! It doesn’t just have undesirable consequences hereafter; it also has undesirable consequences here on earth. Beware of greed. Be contented, for “A godly life brings huge profits to people who are content with what they have.” 1 Timothy 6:6 (GWT).
You know if you’re among the lovers of money, and if you’re a lover of money, humbly acknowledge that you are, tell yourself the truth and deliberately kill that dangerous love for money with these scriptures below recounting the dangers of loving money:
“But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.” 1 Timothy 6:9
“The love of money causes all kinds of trouble. Some people want money so much they have given up their Christian faith and caused themselves a lot of pain.” 1 Timothy 6:10
“The trustworthy person will get a rich reward, but a person who wants quick riches will get into trouble.” Proverbs 28:20
“Don't be selfish and eager to get rich--you will end up worse off than you can imagine.” Proverbs 28:22
“Money wrongly gained will disappear bit by bit; money earned little by little will grow and grow. “Proverbs 13:11
“Being greedy causes trouble for your family, but you protect yourself by refusing bribes.” Proverbs 15:27
Meditate carefully on these scriptures above until your subconscious mind have understood and grasped it; and make efforts to memorize them so that whenever you’re tempted to do any wrong thing for money or to pursue money, the Holy Spirit will remind you the truth of these scriptures and you’ll not fall for the temptation. Gradually, with continuous word study, prayers and the help of the Holy Spirit, that destructive love for money will be completely destroyed and the love of God will possess you and saturate your entire heart.
