GAINS OF HAVING F.O.G Part II ~ Precious Victor Akah

Last week, we examined three benefits of having the FEAR OF GOD. Today, we'll consider three more, and then look at how we can enjoy these benefits because I believe you'll become so desirous of these benefits by the time we wrap up this subject.

P.S: One to three was discussed last week. Be sure to read it if you've not. Tap to read.

Let's dive in to the remaining benefits. Please note that this is not all the benefits of having the FEAR OF GOD. The benefits is actually unquantifiable, I just thought to share these few with us. Ultimately, anyone with the FEAR OF GOD will make heaven.

4. Sufficiency and Abundance: You experience no lack of good things of life as one who fears God. God abundantly supplies you with all you NEED in life.

According to many historians, Jay Cooke is considered as America's first investment banker and was one of the richest men in the 19th century. In his personal life, he was a man of strong Christian faith and a lifelong devout Episcopalian Christian. He donated huge amount of money to Episcopalian charities and financed construction of many churches. In an era when men like Karl Marx who were talking about destroying Christianity and destroying churches, Jay Cooke remained loyal to Christianity, used his money to help finance the construction of many churches, and helped spread and defend the gospel. Little wonder he was one of the richest men in his generation.

Fear of God supplies all your needs.

Scriptural reference:

Psalm 34:9, "Fear the LORD, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing."

5. Divine Protection and Deliverance. You enjoy divine protection and deliverance as one who fears God. God protected Daniel in the lion's den and delivered him from being devoured by the lions. (Daniel 6:1-28)

Scriptural reference:

Psalm 34:7, "The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them."

6. Joy, Prosperity and God's blessings

Joseph feared God and God prospered and blessed him. "On the third day, Joseph said to them, “Do this and you will live, FOR I FEAR GOD:" Genesis 42:18

"The LORD was with Joseph so that he prospered,..." Genesis 39:2

"Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the entire land of Egypt". Genesis 41:41

Scriptural reference:

Psalm 128:1-4, “How joyful are those who fear the Lord— all who follow his ways! You will enjoy the fruit of your labor. How joyful and prosperous you will be. Your wife will be like a fruitful grapevine, flourishing within your home. Your children will be like vigorous young olive trees as they sit around your table. That is the Lord’s blessing for those who fear him and it shall be well with thee.”

Finally on the benefits, consider the life of this man that feared God and how proud God was of him and what God blessed him with which Satan could not disregard but recognize. Let it encourage you the more to choose the fear of God over living without regard for God.

"There once was a man named Job who lived in the land of Uz. He was blameless—a man of complete integrity. He feared God and stayed away from evil....Then the Lord asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil.” Satan replied to the Lord, “Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God. You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is! " Job 1:1,8-10 ((NLT)

God puts a wall of protection around you, your home and property (your household and everything you have). He prospers everything you do. He enriches you. Job was, in fact, the richest person in the land of Uz.

How do I enjoy these benefits? Fear God. Once you're living with the fear of God, you can lay claim on any or all of these promises for manifestation in your life.

However, I would like us to know that, fearing God begins with being born again. You MUST be born again to fear God. If you're not born again, you CANNOT fear God. It's impossible! Why? Because, for instance, according to our definition of what the Fear of God is, you cannot shun evil, immorality, unrighteousness and sin by your own strength, no matter how strong you are physically, no matter how strong-willed you are, and regardless of how disciplined you try to be. It's just impossible.

This is why some people make new year resolution to live holy and decent life, but before we even get to the second week of January, they're back to living unholy (I can say this because I experienced it too before I got born again). You just cannot obey divine commands with human strength. You obey divine commands with divine strength. This is why being born again is fundamental to fearing God.

When you're born again, you're given the Holy Spirit to live in you and supply you daily with divine strength (grace) needed to say NO to sin and shun evil. "For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age..." Titus 2:11-12

Also, being born again gives you a new heart that loves God and desires to honor Him by living according to His Word. So, please consider being born again. It makes it much easier to fear God.

Shalom.
