BECOMING RICH ~ Precious Victor Akah
"If you leave the Christian faith and abandon your devotion to Christ because of money, sooner or later, you would have pierced yourself with many griefs." 1 Timothy 6:10
Yes, we are in a generation where millions of people are passionate about one thing: GETTING RICH, by any and every means. Some do not care about the consequences of getting rich through an evil or illegal means; they say, "As far as I'll enjoy the money before I die, then it is okay. I don't mind living a short life as long as I'm going to live in wealth and luxury." Oh, what a pity.
Jesus knew that such a day like this would come, and so He forewarned us: "For what does it benefit a man to gain the whole world [with all its pleasures], and forfeit his soul? For what will a man give in exchange for his soul and eternal life [in God’s kingdom]?" Mark 8:36-37
If you know how precious your soul is, you will not give it up in exchange for anything, not even money. You should ask yourself, if your soul isn't very precious, why does the devil always ask people to give him their soul in return for riches, power and wealth? Do you think he is dumb? Of course not. I mean, even Jesus Christ had to leave His beautiful mansion and throne in heaven to come down to earth just to redeem your soul and mine. You have to be wise to know that there is something precious about your soul, for you not to forfeit it for mere earthly riches, power and affluence. Don't give up your precious soul for earthly vanities.
Just a reminder: Hell is a real place. People go to hell. Don't be deceived that the most important thing is for you to enjoy life on earth, what happens when you're dead doesn't matter. It does matter, brother. It absolutely matters, sister. Because you'll "enjoy" for few years here on earth (say 5, 10 or 15 years) and then be sent to hell fire to suffer for eternal years, c'mon! Be wise. You might think you can play a fast one on the devil by saying you'll give your life to Jesus before you die. Quite hilarious to think you can outsmart Satan. A lot of people have said that, but you cannot be wiser than the devil if you're operating with earthly wisdom. The devil will surely ensure you never get the chance to repent and make Jesus your Saviour before you leave earth, because he earnestly wants to see you suffer with him and his demons in the lake of fire. Be very careful.
Scripture says in 1 Timothy 6:9, "But those who [are not financially ethical and] crave to get rich [with a compulsive, greedy longing for wealth] fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction [leading to personal misery]."AMP. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil, including physical death and experiencing the second death. Don't kill yourself because of the love of money. Don't send yourself to eternal misery in the lake of fire because of the love of money. Due to the love of money, many people are making foolish and callous decisions that end up ruining their lives and damning their soul. Don't be among them.
"Money cannot be trusted, but God can be trusted. Put your hope in God, not in your salary, wages, or in your bank account."
That scripture (1 Timothy 6:9) says people who want to GET RICH, or people who DESIRE/LONG to be rich fall into temptation and trap. When people want or desire to GET RICH; they want to become millionaires and billionaires overnight; they want to have plenty of money without actually working for the money; they want to have money in abundance without laboring for it. This is why the end is always disastrous. Because God is against such. He wants you to labor diligently and work legitimately for money. Scripture says, "Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; He shall not stand before mean men." It also says, "Wealth obtained by fraud dwindles, But he who gathers gradually by [honest] labor will increase [his riches]." Proverbs 13:11
If you're born again, please understand that godliness with contentment is great gain (1 Timothy 6:6). We don't GET rich in this Kingdom, which happens overnight without working/laboring/tasking your brain for good ideas to make money. It is with patience, labor, wisdom (ideas for wealth creation and income multiplication through solving problems and proffering solutions to world problems) and faith in God that you BECOME rich and wealthy in God's Kingdom. We BECOME rich in this Kingdom, which is a gradual process: "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might BECOME RICH." 2 Corinthians 8:9
God blesses the diligent and hardworking person, not the indolent and lazy person. Proverbs 24:33 AMP “Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to rest [and daydream],” Then your poverty will come as a robber, And your want like an armed man." Jesus already willed (transferred) His riches and wealth to you, but you need to stay faithful to Jesus to have a taste of it and continue to enjoy it.
"You need God to BECOME RICH and you still need God to STAY RICH. Wealth from God can only be sustained with connectivity to God. If you abandon God because He has made you rich, sooner than later, He'll withdraw His riches from you."
If you're not born again, stop chasing money at the detriment of your soul. God says riches and wealth are His (Proverbs 8:18, 1 Chronicles 29:12-16). The riches, wealth and power you seek is in God. True riches and wealth is only found in God. God makes people rich without adding sorrow to their lives. Come to Jesus, not for riches and wealth, but to serve Him in spirit and in truth, seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things people in the world are pursuing (money, cars, good houses, good clothes, good food...) will be added to you.
Come to Jesus today with a resolution to stay with Him no matter what you face.
